As coincidental as it is, this week, we have moved on to “Turkey”, and, as it is a holiday week, I will likely be posting all of our activities after the weekend as we have been immersed in family time. (For which I am extremely grateful!)
I will say that as much fun as it has been to celebrate Turkey during Thanksgiving week, it has also proven a bit confusing. The first few days of the week we did our geography, read a few books on Turkish culture and attempted a Turkish game a few times, but when the turkey was displayed on the table yesterday afternoon Tallinn asked, “Did this come from Turkey?”
Hopefully we can continue on with our learning about the whirling dervishes and turkish delights and not forever be stuck thinking that Turkey and “turkey” have anything to do with each other.
This Week’s Verse
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
*One cool thing about this verse is that the city of Colossae was an ancient city in Turkey and I love that it ties into our week of thankfulness as well.
